Mobile App for Board game fans
As a board game enthusiast, I set out to build the app I wish existed. The first iteration of the app supports managing player groups, keeping track of sessions and attendance, voting for games, logging plays and a simple activity feed.
Scenarios - Organizer
A passionate board game enthusiast wants to make board game evenings a regular thing and creates a group for their friends to keep track of upcoming sessions, pin and vote for suggested games and keep the group active.
At the next stage, more focus will go into building a fun and engaging activity feed that keeps users engaged and up-to-date with the player groups they are members of.
Scenarios - Activity feed
A group of friends enjoy exploring and reading up on games someone other people in the group had suggested for the next session and upvote it if they like it.
A visitor of a board game convention might want to join the Thematic RPG Group by scanning a QR code in order for newly added game sessions of that kind of game would show up in their Activity Feed.
Other features I want to explore involve the ability to find player groups in your area.
Scenarios - Player groups near you
As a social person I would love to meet some new friends to play games with, so I open the In-App Map to find out if there is a player group close by looking for one more player to join their strategy game tomorrow.
A player group looking for one more commited player to start a Big box campaign game create a public session with a suggested date and one open seat and provide the general area of their meeting place.
Eventually, all the data generated from player group association, logged plays, pinned suggested games, session attendance and board game complexity rating, play duration and mechanics can be combined to train a machine learning model to help recommend games on the player group or individual level.
I am actively working on the project and hope to release it soon on the App Store and Google Play
